The added benefit of this system is that it is 100% IP based, the cameras are IP cameras, and the recording unit will only record IP based cameras.

The biggest advantage of HD quality recording is that once you have the images recorded, you can then digitally enhance the image(zoom in). With HD recordings the level of digitally enhancing greatly increases. This means you can zoom much further in on a recorded image then you can with any other system.
